Indie electronic label, Love Our Records, consistently puts out some of the best original dance music around, and their latest release “This Stinking World” by The Black Dots only continues the already well-established trend.

Part blues-y rock n’ roll (anybody else feel like the Eels some how infiltrated this song?) and part electronic pop, “This Stinking World” is a thoughtful yet catchy track that covers everything from “gravity” and “inevitability” to ”loss and love.”

Perhaps the band puts it best by saying this: “It has no mass or function, only lasers.” Still confused as to what we mean? Just go ahead and press that play button.

Kev La Kat, Mr. Equilibrium and Steve Cobby (anybody remember Fila Brazilia?) all take turns on remixing duties, and each producer brings something refreshing and new into the mix. Equilibrium for example, goes for a bass heavy, wobbly re-interpretation, while Cobby goes for more downtempo funk.

This stinking world, is getting me down.
